Qualifications
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Sr. ETL Data Analyst is responsible for developing and executing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to manage clinical data from Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). This role involves writing complex queries, analyzing healthcare data, defining requirements, and collaborating with technical teams to support reporting and healthcare operations. The analyst will validate and map data, ensuring its accuracy and consistency, before handing it off to the engineering team for integration into the Operational Data Store & Data Warehouse infrastructure. By driving data standards and ensuring seamless data delivery across the organization, the analyst plays a crucial role in enhancing data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.
WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to efficiently manage clinical data from EMR systems.
- Write complex queries to extract and analyze healthcare data, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Collaborate with the technical, data and clinical teams to define data requirements and support reporting initiatives.
- Develop and maintain reports to measure, track, and manage data.
- Analyze inbound healthcare clinical data, including claims, ADT HL7 messages, and eligibility information, assessing quality and consistency.
- Assist in designing, programming, testing, and standardizing processes and reports for data auditing and verification.
- Create detailed business requirements to support new clients and product implementations.
- Present analytical findings to diverse audiences, translating complex data insights into actionable information.
- Research and advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies in data analysis to enhance current processes.
- Implement analytical directives from senior staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or a related field with a quantitative emphasis.
- 5 years of relevant industry experience in data analysis, with a focus on ETL processes and clinical EMR data.
- Proficiency in data manipulation, analysis, and report presentation.
- In-depth knowledge of clinical EMR data, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, and eligibility information.
- Experience with population or public health data analysis.
- Professional experience using statistical software and programming languages such as T-SQL and Python.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and expanding technical and industry skill sets.
- Excellent proficiency in Excel and database management.
- Experience with BI reporting tools is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.
PREFERRED:
- Experience with population health platforms and EMR vendor integrations.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and security protocols for healthcare data exchange.
- Familiarity with payer-provider collaborations, value-based care initiatives, and Accountable Care Organization (ACO) models.
- Experience in healthcare IT, including system implementation and support.
- Understanding of clinical workflows and the ability to align information systems and data with these processes.
