Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team in Rochester, NY. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing high-quality diagnostic imaging and work effectively within a fast-paced medical environment.
X-Ray Technologist Responsibilities
- Use X-ray equipment to take radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs as per physicians’ written orders.
- Explain x-ray procedures to patients and answer their questions to ensure patient comfort.
- Position patients appropriately, including assisting with the lifting and movement of patients with limited mobility.
- Safely handle radiologic equipment, keeping patient radiation exposure to the minimum required for diagnostic quality.
- Observe each patient’s status and interpret age-specific needs to ensure proper imaging.
- Produce diagnostic, high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.
- Promptly notify management of any damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment.
- Utilize electronic patient information systems to verify patient name, date, and exam specifics, ensuring adherence to the Dual patient identifier procedure.
- Maintain accurate patient records by properly identifying images and ensuring correct transmission to the PACS system.
X-Ray Technologist Requirements
Licenses / Certifications :
Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
Experience :
At least 2 years of experience as an X-ray Technologist
