Description
Software Designers at MEDITECH actively engage end users of our software in order to drive the future development of our products. You will be responsible for leading user-centered design activities, understanding users' needs, and developing creative solutions to meet those needs. As a member of our Product Development team, your job would involve :
Applying user-centered design methods to ensure the users' needs, goals, and workflow are the focus of each software solutionWorking collaboratively with our Development team to brainstorm and design innovative and accessible solutions to complex problemsConducting user research, identifying pain points, developing personas and user workflowsDefining user stories and writing design documents, such as architectural plansUsing paper and / or functional prototypes to bring design concepts to life, and supporting iterative improvement of software usabilityUnderstanding and applying accessibility principles for users with disabilitiesConducting interviews, site visits, surveys, and performing other methods appropriate for a project with front line staff to C-level executivesHelping the team interpret and understand users' feedback, and providing input for design decisions based on that feedbackAcceptance testing of requirements identified in the design documents to ensure user needs are metConducting design reviews and demonstrations to stakeholdersAttending seminars and training to continue learning about UCD and designRepresenting Development on escalated customer calls, or participating in priority event discussions related to existing or future functionalityAdvocating for the user and being empatheticParticipating in scrum activities, including serving as Scrum Master when appropriateAssisting QA with testing when neededRequirements
Bachelor's or associate's degree preferred and / or 2-3 years of applicable work or military experienceExperience and knowledge in user research, design, accessibility, and usability testingStrong communication skillsAbility to be sensitive toward the users' needs and abilitiesDetailed knowledge of user-centered designWell-organized and thorough documentation skillsStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work well independently and as part of a team
Hiring salary range :
60,000- $72,000 per year.
Actual salary will be determined based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

This is a
hybrid
role which includes a blend of in-office and remote work as designated by the management team.
