As a Naturopathic Medical Assistant at Medical Institute of Integrative Wellness, you will be responsible for supporting assigned patients from start and throughout their health journey at our clinic. Under the supervision of a licensed Naturopathic Doctor, you will train your patients on how to best incorporate their individualized treatment plan into their lives, monitor patients’ clinical data, meet with patients to enable patients to increase motivation and health behavior change, and work with your dedicated doctor to create outreach plans as necessary.

The Naturopathic Medical Assistant will provide efficient, comprehensive, and effective care support to patients. This support will always be under the guide, supervision and advisement of the patient’s Naturopathic Doctor and includes supporting the doctor in documenting a comprehensive assessment of the patient, development of a written care plan with measurable outcomes, arrangement and coordination of services, and patient follow-up to monitor the effectiveness of the services and assess the need for additional support.

As a Naturopathic Medical Assistant at Medical Institute of Integrative Wellness, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in a dynamic, innovative health care environment. All training will be on the job and provided onsite. The listed skills are essential for success in this role.

Ability to take feedback constructively and desire to implement

Preferred qualities of a candidate for this position of Naturopathic Medical Assistant:

· 2 years of experience in healthcare or hospitality management, preferably in a clinical setting (All training for the position will be provided, on site and on the job training)

· Intermediate to advanced computer skills

· At least 40 wpm typing skills

· Bachelor degree

· Medical Assitant/LVN Certification

· The expected compensation for this position is $20/hour - $40/hour plus benefits and bonus potential.

· Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Naturopathic Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for your assigned patients experience at Medical Institute of Integrative Wellness. Listed are the duties of the position:

  • Connects with new patient referrals, shares what patients might expect from both an administrative and clinical perspective ie how the clinic runs and the doctor’s approach to care
  • Greets patients with a welcoming and professional demeanor
  • Assists patients with administrative and clinical questions and concerns (under supervision and guidance of their assigned doctor)
  • Assists doctor in conducting patient intake and assisting with gathering medical history and assessment of patients’ health
  • Coordinates and facilitates all patient appointments including referrals and labs and imaging
  • Educates patients on treatment plan assigned by doctor

· Guides patients through their treatment plans, from initial consultation to ongoing care.

· Maintains contact with the patient to monitor the effectiveness of their treatments and assesses the need for additional services.

· Writes accurate, thorough, specific client assessments, letters, emails, and other communications.

Maintains timely, accurate and detailed patient records and updates them as needed.

Coordinates with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.

· Ensures execution of smooth and efficient operational procedures within the schedule of their assigned doctor to provide the highest level of customer service.

· Assures adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy at all times.

· Manages patient communication (phone, voicemail, email, and portals) promptly and professionally.

· Schedules follow-ups for naturopathic consultations, blood draws and imaging, referrals, IV’s body work etc

· Processes and uploads patient documents into EMR, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

· Monitors and addresses prescription refill requests and testing orders.

· Collaborates with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of care.

· Prepares patient charts and documentation for daily appointments.

· Organizes and coordinates follow-ups, ensuring patients stay on track with their treatment plans.

· Supports the operational flow of the practice by taking on administrative tasks as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
