What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthopedic Physician Assistant position at Medical Management Associates, Inc?
Reputable Orthopedic Surgical practice in Augusta seeks an experienced Physician Assistant that is committed to providing proficient services and quality patient-centered care for our patients. The PA for this role must have excellent communication with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-faceted team. On average, it is expected the PA hired will work on-call 3-4 times per month for 24-hour shifts.
The responsibilities will include :
- Performing comprehensive and problem-focused history and physical exams
- Coordinating diagnostic tests such as X-rays
- Will review MRI and CT scans in coordination with radiology reports
- Formulating differential diagnoses and establishing work diagnoses
- Interpreting and correlating laboratory and diagnostic procedures
- Administer injections, including corticosteroids and other medications
- Assisting orthopedic surgeons in surgical procedures
- Perform minor surgical procedures such as wound closure and casting
- Participating in pre-operative workups and post-operative care
- Developing and managing treatment plans
- Participate in clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of orthopedic practices through continuing education
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
