Position Overview:
Medical Murray is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Trainer to support the training and development of our manufacturing team. The Production Trainer will be responsible for delivering technical training to ensure employees can consistently execute our standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing process instructions (MPIs). This role directly contributes to the improvement of skills, performance, productivity, and quality of work within our manufacturing processes, ensuring that we meet customer requirements for quality, quantity, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow and uphold the Quality System, including all applicable SOPs listed in the Training Matrix.
Lead the training efforts for new manufacturing hires, existing production employees, and contract production associates.
Collaborate with Manufacturing leadership to prioritize and assign training tasks.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support cross-training for all functional product lines.
Work with production supervisory staff and engineers to develop training plans and set up training stations for new and existing product lines.
Coordinate with the Materials Manager to determine materials for training purposes.
Successfully complete basic manufacturing skill training (e.g., microscope use, trimming flash, welding, equipment setup) and assist with training other assemblers.
Support continuous process and productivity improvements, offering recommendations and assisting with engineering activities as needed.
Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors to maintain organization and housekeeping within manufacturing areas.
Be familiar with product defects as defined in MPIs and assist with defect training.
Conduct refresher training and random audits to ensure compliance with processes.
Manage cross-training of team members and work with production supervisors to create and monitor training plans.
Complete and maintain necessary documentation and records, including training certificates and line clearance audits.
Track daily production of products for personnel undergoing training and assist with troubleshooting.
Provide production support for lines and assembly activities as needed.
Qualifications:
Certifications/Technical Training: Relevant certifications and/or technical training preferred.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying complex information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) with the ability to create and edit reports, documents, presentations, and spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal skills, including rapport building, listening, and questioning abilities.
Ability to effectively present training content to an audience.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Education: Degree with an emphasis in instructional design/technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of technical training or relevant manufacturing experience.
Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
