What You’ll Do:
The HR Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resources department, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and policy implementation. This role serves as a key resource for employees and management, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
- Trains management in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.
- Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Review performance evaluation program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.
- Administers and assists benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Investigates accidents and prepares reports for the insurance carrier.
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data and documentation.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What You Need For This Job:
- High School Diploma or general education degree
- Accredited Human Resource Certification; SHRM-CP, PHR
- Two-four-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must reside in or near Wasilla, Alaska.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should know Database software, internet software, and word processing software.
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, or feel, talk, and hear. Ability to occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms; stoop; kneel; crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardization situations.
- Must be able to lift and/or move 25 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
