Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Conduct neurological assessments.
- Assist with patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic tests (MRI, CT, X-ray).
- Monitor patient progress post-surgery and provide ongoing follow-up care.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
- Surgical Assistance:
- Assist in neurosurgery operations, including preparing the operating room, managing equipment, and assisting with surgical procedures.
- Assist in the management of devices and the overall patient condition based upon the data gleaned from these devices.
- Clinical Support:
- Write orders related to neurosurgical and neurocritical care.
- Perform certain bedside procedures.
- Document patient medical histories, treatments, and results.
- Maintain detailed patient records in compliance with legal and medical standards.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate with other medical professionals, such as neurologists, radiologists, and physical therapists.
- Communicate effectively with the neurosurgery team, including neurosurgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and their families about treatments and aftercare.

Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
- Proficient in patient assessment and care
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic and Cerner
- Experience in critical care and neurosurgery preferred
- BLS and ACSL
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations
