We are a private practice comprised of 11 physicians and 10 APPs. Our mission is to provide quality cancer care to the patients in our local community. We are affiliated with the US Oncology Network, which is one of the nation’s largest networks of integrated, community-based oncology practices that are dedicated to advancing high-quality, evidence-based cancer care. Our board-certified physicians in Hematology and Medical Oncology, Palliative Care Medicine, and breast surgery have trained and held faculty positions in nationally and internationally recognized academic centers. Our physicians have extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of malignant diseases and disorders of the blood and breast.

We have an immediate opening for a Patient Care Coordinator I.

SCOPE:
Under direct supervision, serves as the patients medical liaison among the practice. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prior to a patients first appointment, contact patient to obtain basic chart information (diagnosis, referring physician, personal data, insurance, etc).
  • Asks patient questions, regarding medical information in order to match with physician.
  • Inquires about patients family, medical, social services needs.
  • On behalf of the patient, coordinates physician referrals, schedules first oncology appointment within the practice.
  • Ensures accurate documents is in the medical chart.
  • Obtains and maintains accurate patient demographics.
  • Researches and responds to routine inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Requests assistance from more senior coworkers & supervisor to resolve non-routine issues.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Must demonstrate the ability to verbally articulate information and questions with others in order to perform responsibilities effectively. Must be personable. Proficiency with computer systems, medical billing systems, and MicroSoft Office Outlook & Word, required.

Work is performed in a clinical environment and requires frequent interaction with staff, patients and the public. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to other USON buildings.
