We are looking for a reliable and friendly office assistant. The office assistant position will ensure the rest of the staff has adequate support to work efficiently. The tasks of the office assistant will include maintaining files, phone/email/fax management, claim management and potentially medical billing. The ideal candidate will be competent in prioritizing tasks and working with little supervision, they will be self-motivated and trustworthy. The office assistant ensures smooth running of our company’s office and contributes in driving sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Accurately verify insurance benefits
- Answer phone and effectively communicate with patients and other healthcare professionals (e-mail, letters, e-fax, voicemails, etc.)
- Maintain medical records/charts
- Create and update spreadsheets and databases with personnel, financial and other data
- Track stock of office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Maintain clean and organized office environment
- Assist colleagues with daily tasks and patient correspondence
Skills
- Proven experience as an office assistant or relevant role
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities including phone and e-mail correspondence with medical professionals
- Excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles
- Excellent working knowledge of word, excel, adobe and google drive
- Qualifications in secretarial studies or medical billing/coding will be an advantage
