Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Instructional Aid to support our teachers and students in the classroom. The Instructional Aid will assist in the implementation of lesson plans, facilitate small group instruction, and provide support for students with diverse needs. This position requires a strong commitment to helping students succeed in a medical-focused academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one instructional reinforcement (tutoring) when scheduled outside of regular classroom instruction.
Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials.
Provide instructional assistance in computer labs or technology-based learning environments.
Provide instructional support in other specialized settings.
Provide translation and language assistance when necessary.
Support the instructional staff under the supervision of a highly qualified learning facilitator.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Be of good character and demonstrate a strong work ethic.
Completion of a Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) or meet one of their stated exceptions on their website.
Completion of Rhode Island Criminal Background Check
Prior experience working with middle or high school students is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with learning facilitators, students, and families.
A passion for education and helping students achieve their full potential.
Ability to maintain a positive, patient, and supportive demeanor.
Additional Information:
This position reports to the Principal and instructional staff.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Three letters of recommendation required.
