Medical Receptionist Job Description:
By being the front line representative for the office, this candidate will greet patients on the phone and in person; schedule/reschedule appointments; check in and check out patients; and ensure the efficient flow of the office.
Responsibilities:
Greets all patients and visitors in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries on multi-line phone system.
Optimizes patients satisfaction and provider time by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Manage patients appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patients arrival and verifying patients eligibility and current referral on file prior to set appointment.
Schedule follow up visits and referrals.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Reviews fax inbox and assign as appropriate.
Manage appointment scheduling for new consultations and follow up visits.
Collects co-pays and payments by recording and collecting patient charges.
Check out patients and schedule appropriately.
Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed and assist fellow employees in any additional duties asked by management.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $19.75 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
