Job Description:
We are seeking experienced and compassionate RNs to join our MedSurg/Tele Float Pool team in Bangor, ME. This role involves floating between various units to provide patient care and assistance based on demand, ensuring quality care within scope and practice.
Required Skills & Experience:
RNs:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Telemetry.
- Proficiency in reading/interpreting rhythm strips, PIV starts, trach care, wound vacs, and PCA.
- Experience with chest tubes, temporary pacemakers (preferred), cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), Heparin gtts, Insulin gtts, and Stroke care protocols.
- Ability to float to different units, including MedSurg, ED Holds, and PACU Holds.
Additional Unit Information:
Charge Nurse & Supervisors:
- Charge Nurse and House Supervisor available 24/7.
Equipment:
- Cerner charting system, BD Alaris IV Pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing.
Patient Types:
- MedSurg, Oncology, Cardiac, Surgical, and ED Holds. Specific patient types include CHF, MI, arrhythmias, cardiac interventional patients, and post-op cases.
Scheduling & Requirements:
Shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM (12-hour night shifts).
Weekend: Every other weekend (Fri/Sat for night shifts).
Floating: Required across various units, including ED Holds and PACU Holds, based on patient care demands.
Certifications & Licensure:
Required:
- RNs: BLS, ACLS.
License:
- Active RN licensure in good standing.
Charting System:
Cerner.
Medical Specialty:
Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, Oncology, and Cardiac.
Physical Setting:
Level II Trauma Center with a bed capacity of 411.
