Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical RN for a travel assignment in a 48-bed unit. This role is ideal for nurses with strong assessment skills who can manage a diverse patient population, including pneumonia, UTIs, AMS, GI bleeds, alcohol withdrawal, and fall-related injuries.
Responsibilities :
Provide direct care to patients with varied medical conditions
Manage heparin, Bumex, and Lasix drips (no cardiac titration)
Collaborate with the charge nurse (who may take a patient assignment, depending on staffing)
Monitor telemetry (monitors are read by a dedicated telemetry tech)
Support patient care techs, who assist with vitals, BGMs, EKGs, heart monitor applications, bathing, feeding, toileting, and repositioning
Work with respiratory therapists who manage BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen (RNs primarily monitor, not manage, respiratory treatments)
Qualifications :
Active RN license (state-specific or compact license accepted)
BLS certification (required before start)
Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience (first-time travelers accepted)
Experience with IV management, wound care, and telemetry patients preferred
