Job Title: Travel Operating Room (OR) Nurse
Position Summary:
The Travel Operating Room (OR) Nurse is responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the assigned unit. This role ensures high-quality, efficient, and safe care, aligning with unit standards and organizational goals. The OR Nurse must demonstrate professionalism, competence, and sensitivity to patient needs while working collaboratively with medical staff, patients, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the OR for surgical procedures, ensuring proper setup of instruments and sterile fields.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical professionals during procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document all aspects of surgical care.
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards to ensure a sterile and safe operating environment.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations in the OR.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required by the unit.
License/Certifications:
- Current New Mexico RN license or Compact State license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Must be from American Heart Association).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Must be from American Heart Association).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (Must be from American Heart Association).
Experience:
- Previous OR nursing experience required.
