Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced

Medical Assistant Intake / Scheduler
Minimum of one year of experience required.

This is a FULL TIME / TEMP TO HIRE position requiring availability between the hours of 7;30AM-4 : 45PM, Monday through Friday, located in Suffolk, VA (23435).

Responsibilities :

A Day in the life of an MA Intake / Scheduler :

As an MA Intake / Scheduler you will greet the patients, collect vitals, review symptoms and medical history and room patient. After the patient has been seen the MA Intake / Scheduler will schedule the patient for any procedure or procedures the provider has ordered.

Collect vitals

Reviewing medications

Documenting chief complaint

Rooming patients

Assist with abdominal and rectal exams

Peg tube changes and bandaging of peg tube site

Hemorrhoid bandages

Assist patients to the restroom as needed

Complete the check out process

Faxing referrals

Scheduling procedures and explaining instructions

Submitting electronic lab orders

Faxing radiology to providers

Sending urgent tasks through gMed to the providers

Scanning all documents into the patient's chart

Verbally discussing the checklist in every exam room with the patient to ensure nothing was missed during the intake process for patient's safety

Assist provider MAs with procedure reschedules

Medication authorizations and other tasks as time permits

Cover other locations as requested / needed

Any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements for the Medical Assistant / Intake and Scheduler :

Required : 1 years paid experience as a Medical Assistant

Required : Ability to collect vitals to include using a manual blood pressure cuff

Required : BLS

Required : Computer / EMR experience

Required : Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen

Required : Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment

Required : Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Required : Travel to other offices as needed or requested

Preferred Qualifications for the Medical Assistant / Intake and Scheduler :

Preferred : Certified or Registered MA

Preferred : Gastroenterology experience

Preferred : gMed experience

Preferred : Scheduling experience

Benefits :

17.00-$19.00 an hour (depending on experience level)
