Job Responsibility
- Teaches all courses as assigned by the Department Chair or Coordinator.
- Maintains attendance and punctuality.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Prepares course syllabi (if not provided by the Department).
- Meets all scheduled classes on the assigned day /time.
- Uses scheduled class time appropriately.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude, philosophy, and commitment that promotes student growth and learning.
- Demonstrates commitment to the institutional mission, goals, and objectives.
- Maintains accurate student records for grading and attendance, submitting grade reports within college deadlines.
- During planned absences, coordinate with the Program Director or Program Coordinator for qualified substitute instructors and provide instructional materials, protocols, and directions to ensure consistent and sequential classroom instruction.
- Promotes and maintains a healthy and safe educational and work environment, free from harassment and discrimination.
- Demonstrates professional growth and development by updating subject matter knowledge and using effective teaching techniques.
- Develops, maintains, and promotes a positive working environment among departmental faculty.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the respective Program Director.
Minimum Qualifications
18 graduate semester hours in physics master’s degree or a master’s degree with a major in physics
Preferred Qualifications
Preference is given to candidates with Physics teaching experience at the community college level, as well as LMS experience.
