Medical Transportation of Oklahoma (MTO) is currently hiring for full time and part time position of Transportation Specialist, Pushing, pulling items up to 350 pounds with assistance of mobility devices. Primary duties include loading/unloading patients (a majority of which are wheelchair-bound), driving patients to and from physician appointments, picking up patients from the hospital and ensuring the safety of patients during transport. We are seeking individuals who have a servant’s heart, excellent customer service skills and good driving history.
The Transportation Specialist is the first-impression a passenger will have of MTO. Transportation Specialists must strive to exhibit a servant attitude while displaying ethics, responsibility and versatility, taking the initiative to achieve the highest level of customer service through communication and enthusiasm.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
2. Performing assigned inspections to ensure all vehicles are stocked, prepared and clean for the following shift.
3. Continuing cleanliness and orderliness of MTO Vehicles in between transports.
4. Reporting any deficiencies to Customer Service Manager.
5. Greet each patient/nurse/client in a friendly and inviting manner, using positive communication to instill trust and confidence in MTO clients, passengers and other employees.
6. Ensuring passengers are comfortable and, most importantly, safe and secure before and during transport, consulting MTO Policy and Procedures when necessary.
7. Setting expectations with all passengers regarding times, processes or pickup procedures.
8. Ensuring all passengers are secured properly and in accordance with MTO Policies and Procedures.
9. Exercising a high level of time management to ensure that all transports are completed on time.
10. Communicating any delays or potential delays to the Dispatcher to affect the greatest level of communication.
11. Safely applying preventive harnesses in the event that a passenger is unable to maintain proper positioning.
12. Turning in all paperwork (checklists and inspection reports) at end-of-shift.
13. Transportation Specialists are expected to dress in a ‘business casual’ manner, wearing solid-color polo shirts or button downs, slacks, dress shoes and are expected to maintain a well-groomed appearance.
14. Any other reasonable duties or tasks that may be assigned by Customer Service Supervisor and/or Transportation Supervisor
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Possess high school diploma.
· Must obtain the necessary driver's license.
· Must possess good driving record.
· Must possess a current CPR/First Aid certification or be able to obtain one within training window.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Must have reliable source of transportation to/from work
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: NONE
REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver's License and CPR/First Aid
