About the Role:
The Clinical Instructor for Nursing Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. Under the direction of the Director of Education, the Clinical Instructor assists with assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating orientation, in-service, staff development and continuing education programs, at the individual, unit and departmental level. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality educational experiences that integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application in clinical settings. The instructor will collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure that students receive comprehensive training that meets industry standards and prepares them for real-world challenges. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, the Clinical Instructor will help students develop critical thinking, clinical skills, and professional behaviors essential for their success. Ultimately, this role contributes to the advancement of nursing education and the improvement of patient care outcomes in the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a current license to practice professional nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alabama.
- Current and valid nursing license in the state of practice.
- At least one year experience in the practice of professional nursing either Medical/Surgical or Critical Care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience in a nursing program.
- Certification in nursing education (CNE) or a similar credential.
- Experience with simulation-based learning and technology in education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nursing curricula that align with educational standards and clinical practice.
- Conduct lectures, simulations, and hands-on training sessions to enhance student learning.
