Pharmacy Tech | Medical Center Pharmacy | FT Day Shift

The Pharmacy Technician works with the outpatient Medical Center pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of medications. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintains pharmacy medication storage areas for cleanliness, organization, and expiration.
• Maintains stock rotation and medication date checking.
• Accepts written prescriptions or refill requests from patients.
• Records medical histories while maintaining confidentiality.
• Delivers quality customer service to patients while responding to questions or requests.
• Verifies the accuracy of patient information.
• Counts appropriate medications, places them in the appropriate container, creates outpatient pharmacy labels, and places complete prescriptions in designated area for the pharmacist to verify.
• Participates in inventory audits.
• Processes patient insurances.

High school diploma or GED required. Pharmacy Technicians shall maintain, in good standing, the appropriate registration with the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy.
