About the Role:
As an RN in the Emergency Room department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our employees. Your main responsibility will be to provide high-quality medical care and support to our staff at UAB Medical West. You will be responsible for assessing and treating injuries and illnesses, administering medications, and providing health education to employees. Your ultimate goal will be to promote a safe and healthy work environment, reduce workplace injuries, and improve overall employee well-being.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Must possess American Heart Association BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. ACLS and/or PALS certification from the American Heart Association may be required depending on the nursing unit.
- Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in occupational health or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of medical procedures, treatments, and medications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
- Experience in conducting health and wellness programs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial assessments of employee injuries and illnesses and provide appropriate medical treatment and care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement health and wellness programs for employees.
- Provide health education and counseling to employees on topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, and stress management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
