Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Full-time position on-site at the Marlton, NJ office 5 days per week with potential travel to additional offices or schools as needed.
- Clinical service hours (Including school assessments) - 30hrs
- Psychiatric oversight & development- 10hrs

Pays $180,000 bonus
Job Summary:
The Lead Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing and advancing the quality of Psychiatric care within the organization.
This role includes conducting psychiatric threat assessments, evaluating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with mental health needs, and supporting clinical operations through mentorship and collaboration. The Lead PMHNP ensures adherence to best practices, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centered care in both clinical and educational settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Oversight:
- Serve as the lead resource for advanced practice nurses and other healthcare staff.
- Supervise and mentor advanced practice nurses, promoting professional growth and fostering a collaborative care environment.
- Develop and implement nursing protocols, policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals and clinical standards.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Perform psychiatric evaluations, including conducting threat assessments to identify risk and recommend intervention strategies.
- Evaluate and provide input on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring psychiatric or mental health support, ensuring accommodations meet their needs.
- Manage complex cases and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Collaborative Care & Coordination:
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, educators, and other stakeholders to provide coordinated care for patients and students.
- Serve as a liaison between the psychiatric team, administration, and other departments to streamline communication and service delivery.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case reviews, ensuring the integration of advanced nursing perspectives into treatment planning.
Program Development & Quality Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within advanced nursing practice and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay informed about the latest evidence-based practices and integrate them into nursing protocols and patient care strategies.
- Assist in the development and evaluation of psychiatric and mental health programs within the organization.
2. Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all clinical practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards, including HIPAA and FERPA requirements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all assessments, evaluations, and care plans.
Qualifications:
- Advanced practice degree (e.g., MSN, DNP) with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - PMHNP or Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS).
- At least 5 years of advanced clinical nursing experience, including psychiatric care and crisis management.
- Experience working with educational systems and evaluating Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of current mental health regulations, evidence-based practices, and
therapeutic modalities.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in conducting psychiatric threat assessments.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory standards for educational and healthcare systems.
- Strong mentoring and team-building capabilities.
