The Position:

We are looking for a full-time and Part Time pharmacy technicians with to join our team of trained technicians to serve the local community to provide exceptional pharmacy care.

Medicine Counter Pharmacy is an independently-owned pharmacy located in Hixson, TN. We offer tailored care to our patients by offering prescription delivery, discounted prices, applying for co-pay cards, monthly pill packs, prescription synch, compounding, MTM, etc... Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Specific duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Retrieving, pouring, counting, labeling, and reconstituting prescription medications
- Accessing, inputting, and retrieving information through the Pharmacy’s computer network to maintain accurate records
- Creating accurate prescription labels
- Obtaining refill authorizations from prescribers
- Processing and preparing third-party insurance claims
- Communicating with physicians, patients, and third parties, such as insurers
- Maintaining accurate patient/ client profiles
- Maintaining Pharmacy inventory
- Preparing reports related to sales, usage, and inventory
- Complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations
- Providing completed orders to customers
- Answering phones and directing customer calls to the appropriate personnel
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment, work areas, and shelves
- Accepting prescriptions to be filled and ensuring that the PIC has the data necessary to fill the orders
- Greeting and assisting customers
- Recordkeeping related to inventories, receipts, purchases, and deliveries
- Collecting co-payments
- Packaging and labeling products under the supervision of the PIC
- Restocking shelves
- Unpacking and organizing incoming merchandise, including sorting items that require special handling
- Checking for outdated medications and notifying the PIC of low inventories
- Understanding confidentiality with respect to patient/ client care; complying with all federal and state laws applicable to the confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronically protected health information (EPHI); and following HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information
- Working as a team and communicating clearly
- Helping customers locate over-the-counter products
- Handling customer problems/ concerns in a calm manner and referring them to the pharmacist accordingly
- Notifying the pharmacist of any problems or malfunctions
- Checking refrigerator and freezer temperatures
- Properly processing pseudoephedrine sales
- Promoting teamwork
- Providing professional services
- Delivering medication to the patient's home and doctor's offices in a daylight
- Cleaning, sweep, and mop once a week.
Position Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the pharmacy technician position are:
*****Required: 2 years of customer service experience*******
1) A high school diploma or equivalent
2) A current Tennessee pharmacy technician’s license (Not Required to start)
3) A genuine commitment to patients
4) A positive, problem-solving attitude
5) A consistent approach that is oriented towards helping co-workers achieve success with their jobs
6) A demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail
7) The physical ability to stand on one’s feet throughout the day
8) An ongoing commitment to learning and performing the skill of making medications at the highest level of quality in the compounding field
9) A demonstrated ability to set goals and see tasks through to completion
10) Super Accuracy skills
Preferred qualifications include:
1) Three years or more employees in one company
2) 2 years of Pharmacy related experience
3) Past experience in a healthcare setting
4) Past experience in customer service.
Hours:
- 9:30 am-7:00 pm, Monday through Friday; Saturday 10 am - 2 pm
Salary:
- $12-$18/hour starting salary, based on experience; opportunities for salary advancement every 6 months and performance bonuses
Benefits:

- 40 Hours Paid Time OFF per year After 6 months of continuous full-time employment
- 80 Hours Paid Time OFF per year After 18 months of continuous full-time employment
