Position: Dentist, Independent Contractor
Schedule: 1 Day per week (8 Hours)
Location: J Reuben Long Detention Center, Conway, SC
Pay Rate: $125 per hour
Responsibilities:

Provide and manage direct dental patient care, including oral examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified population

Prescribe pharmaceuticals and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed oral conditions

Manage the daily operations of the dental clinic at the facility

Direct and coordinate patient care activities of dental technical and support staff as required
-
Follow established policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement and safety, environmental and infection control standards

Participate and direct health promotion, education and/or prevention programs for inmates and provides in-service training for health staff members

Maintain dental records and charts documenting all dental services rendered

Respond to requests from Security Staff as well as MEDIKO Staff in accordance with MEDIKO and Facility Guidelines, to include following the rules and regulations for employee conduct/behavior and chain of command set forth by the command staff at all times while working within the detention/correctional facility

On-call services as assigned by the facility and MEDIKO

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Graduation from an Accredited School of Dental Medicine

One (1) year experience in General Dentistry preferred

Currently licensed in the state of South Carolina (or license eligible)

Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
