We are hiring for the following:
Position: Licensed Practical Nurse PRN
Location: Marlboro County Detention Center
Pay Rate: $27 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the center's physician in providing proper medical care for patients
- Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders
- Provide emergency medical assistance
- Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports
- Administer medication and treatment per Physician's orders
- Maintain control of all medications and drugs on hand in accordance with policies and procedures
- Follow the policies and procedures that apply to the Medical Department
- Complete reports and medical forms
- Ensure medical office is clean, orderly, and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited program that prepares graduates to become an LPN (or LVN)
- High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Active license from South Carolina as an LPN, or licensure from another jurisdiction that is a member of the Nurse Licensing Compact
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center, is very helpful
- Must hold CPR/BLS prior to start date and maintain certification throughout employment
