We are hiring for the following:
Position: Licensed Practical Nurse PRN
Location: Kershaw County Detention
Pay Rate: $27 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the center's physician in providing proper medical care for patients
- Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders
- Provide emergency medical assistance
- Assist the center's Physician in conducting sick call
- Administer medication and other treatment per Physician's orders
- Maintain control of all medications on hand in accordance with policies and procedures
- Follow the policies and procedures applicable to the Medical Department
- Complete reports and medical forms, including medical history interviews for H&Ps (History & Physical)
- Ensure medical office is clean, orderly, and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited training program that prepares graduates to practice Practical or Vocational Nursing
- High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Active and unrestricted South Carolina LPN credential or an LPN (or LVN) from another jurisdiction that is part of the Nurse Licensing Compact
- Minimum of one (1) year nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center, is helpful
- Must hold current CPR/BLS prior to start date and maintain certification throughout employment
