Position : Corporate Nurse Educator
Location : Monterey, CA
Responsibilities :
Support the training and education for new and existing staff
Assist in the development of new and / or existing clinical competencies and training for staff
Participate in new staff post-orientation validation competencies and tests
Tracking staff’s completed trainings, competency, and / or testing, as applicable, to ensure training plan completed as expected, while at site
Assist site leadership team with annual competencies, ongoing training and educational initiatives needed at the site-level
Conduct site audits of policies and procedures and clinical practices
Assist with Continuous Quality Improvement activities as needed
Serve as a mentor to staff, and identify growth opportunities and educational needs
Promote critical thinking among nurses, and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
Maintain current knowledge of trends in area of expertise
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited registered nursing program; BSN degree preferred
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with correctional experience required, educational / teaching experience strongly desired
Active multi-state registered nursing license required
Minimum three (3) years of experience required, prefer at least one (1) year in corrections
Current CPR / BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross guideline approved)
Requires travel to MEDIKO contracted facilities and to Corporate Office in VA
