WATER DISTRIBUTION WORKER
The Medina County Board of Commissioners seeks a full-time Water Distribution Worker for the Sanitary Engineering Department.
Duties:
Performs troubleshooting, maintenance, installation and repair of water meters, electrical panel, etc. associated with the water distribution system. Reads water meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Collects water samples, performs chlorine tests, and checks system pressure(s), Maintains accurate records/drawing of meter sets & locations, valves, curb boxes, etc. Assists in repairs as needed on water system. Performs housekeeping in water towers and water pumping stations.
Qualifications:
Minimum 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED. Ohio EPA Water Distribution Class 1 Certification is preferred but is required to be obtained within two (2) years of hire to retain employment. Good communication skills both verbally and in writing accurately; perform basic mathematical calculations; maintain accurate records; utilize & operate a variety of hand and power tools; perform basic mechanical functions; perform heavy manual labor for an extended period of time and ability to work outside during inclement weather and adverse conditions. Computer knowledge is helpful. Valid Ohio Driver's License and clean driving record.
Hours:
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or as needed for emergencies. Employees are required to be part of an On-Call rotation and available for after-hours emergency work. You be able to arrive at any location within the County within one (1) hour of receiving the call.
Rate of Pay:
2025
Start: $23.00
One (1) Year: $25.50
Two (2) Years: $28.00
Employees who obtain a Class 2 Water Distribution license shall receive an additional one dollar and twenty-five cents ($1.25) per hour to the above listed base rate.
