Summary
The Clinical Educator is responsible for providing clinical education and training to healthcare professionals. The Clinical Educator works closely with a team of
healthcare professionals to develop and implement educational programs that promote best practices and high-quality patient care.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement educational programs and training for healthcare professionals across all skills and shifts.
- Work with healthcare professionals in both the hospital and clinic settings to identify areas for improvement and develop training programs to address these areas.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate healthcare professionals on new clinical practices and procedures.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure educational programs align with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop and deliver continuing education programs for healthcare professionals to maintain licensure and certification requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, program evaluations, and other educational activities.
- Participate in developing policies and procedures related to clinical education and training.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and professional organizations.
- Foster partnerships and collaborations with educational institutions, including nursing schools and other healthcare training programs, to enhance clinical education and training opportunities.
- Participate in developing curriculum and educational materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect current best practices in healthcare.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and educational institutions, providing guidance and support to faculty, students, and preceptors.
- Stay current with the latest clinical research and best practices in healthcare.
- Complete all other special projects and job duties as assigned.
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Current TX RN License.
- BLS required within 30 days of hire; ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical setting

Work Environment & Physical Demands
The Clinical Educator will spend a significant amount of time on their feet, moving around the clinical environment to observe and instruct learners. They may need to demonstrate physical techniques or maneuvers, such as patient positioning or administering medications, which can require physical dexterity and strength of hands, arms, and legs. Additionally, the Clinical Educator may need to spend long periods of time in front of a computer or reviewing patient charts.
The Clinical Educator may occasionally be responsible for lifting and moving equipment, supplies, or patients that can range from a few pounds to several hundred. Clinical educators may also be exposed to infectious diseases and hazardous materials, which requires them to adhere to strict safety protocols.
This position is an on-site position that operates primarily in a clinical setting and will require occasional travel to varying hospital and clinic locations. The Clinical Educator may occasionally need to work irregular or long hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
