Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as directed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments to ensure safety for both the animal and staff.
- Conduct routine laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian.
- Support animal husbandry practices, including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals.
- Handle dogs with care, utilizing appropriate dog training techniques when necessary.
- Client relations and assisting in reception duties.
Experience
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with animal physiology and basic veterinary practices is advantageous.
- Skills in animal handling, particularly with dogs and equines, are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment is beneficial.
- Experience with animal care techniques, including husbandry practices and restraint methods.
