Job Title : Billing Customer Service Representative

Start Date : March 2025

Schedule / Shift : Monday-Friday, 9am-5 : 30pm ( MUST have flexibility to work ANY 8-hour shift between 7am-5 : 30pm)

Training Schedule / Shift : Monday-Friday, 8am-4 : 30pm (5-6 weeks)

The Billing Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling phone calls from patients and providers in reference to payment issues, perceived inappropriate patient service and updates on insurance data.

Responsibilities / Job Duties (not limited to the following) :

  • Take phone calls from patients and providers about payment problems, service issues, or insurance updates.
  • Figure out what the call is about and log the reason in the system.
  • Look into, fix, and respond to billing problems quickly and accurately.
  • Help the Reimbursement team by posting insurance payments that show as zero.
  • Keep track of patient accounts to make sure payments are made and avoid sending accounts to collections.
  • Assist with adjustments on insurance payments, recovering bad debt, and mailing cash payments.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of experience in a high-volume Call Center / Contact Center.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of medical billing terminology is preferred.
