Job Summary: The role is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations on the clinical study floor, ensuring all studies are conducted in alignment with study protocols and clinical SOPs. This position involves close collaboration with Clinical Research Coordinators, the Clinical Staff Manager, and Clinical Floor Supervisors to ensure studies are carried out according to study-specific operational plans. The role also includes coordinating, organizing, monitoring, and delegating the daily activities of Clinical Staff assigned to study floor events, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and providing leadership in clinical problem-solving.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on SOPs, ICH/GCP guidelines, NIH guidelines, and relevant state and national regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a calm and professional environment on the study floor, leading by example in conflict resolution and appropriate delegation.
- Ensure Clinical Staff Manager and Clinical Floor Supervisors are informed of any issues arising on the study floor.
- Accurately document and report subjects' Adverse Events, providing treatment as necessary and escalating to medical personnel or CRCs as appropriate.
- Ensure all shift duties are completed in accordance with the Charge Checklist or equivalent, including the completion of relevant logs and metrics.
- Escalate study-related issues to the Clinical Staff Manager, Clinical Floor Supervisors, and Clinical Research Coordinators promptly, and communicate other relevant issues with the Clinical Operations Manager, Principal Investigator, Pharmacist, and/or IT.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals and support team objectives as assigned.
- Stay informed on company goals and support the development and engagement of all floor staff.
- Take accountability for leading the clinical team with professionalism, clear communication, and effective strategies.
