What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Engineer II position at Medix?
Job Purpose :
Facilitate manufacturing projects to ensure alignment with schedule, financial objectives, and divisional goals, driving operational excellence and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
Continuous Improvement :
Lead initiatives to enhance safety, quality, cost efficiency, and delivery performance within the plant.
Develop and implement tools such as value stream maps, standard work / process sheets, routings, capacity analyses, and line layouts.
Lean Six Sigma Implementation :
Apply Lean Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste, reduce process variability, enhance production throughput, and optimize material flow and part availability (PFEP / line replenishment).
Conduct and support Kaizen events and train team members in Lean methodologies, including Kanban and one-piece flow.
Process Optimization :
Design, fabricate, and install tooling and fixtures to meet quality specifications and drive process enhancements.
Research and implement new technologies and capital equipment to optimize existing processes.
Engineering Support :
Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
Provide engineering expertise for new product introductions using tools and methodologies aligned with the PACE process.
Actively contribute to cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Additional Duties :
Perform other tasks as assigned to support team and organizational needs.
Required Qualifications :
Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of Lean principles and methodologies, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Kaizen.
Hands-on problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality results on time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
Preferred Qualifications :
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Oracle or SolidWorks.
