Job Summary :
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for managing the front-line duties of patient registration, verification, and scheduling in a healthcare facility. This role ensures that all patient information is accurately entered into the system, assists with insurance verification, and provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Registration :
Greet and register patients in a professional and courteous manner.
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
Schedule patient appointments based on provider availability and patient needs.
Answer patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, billing, and insurance coverage.
Accurately enter patient information into electronic health records (EHR) or other relevant systems.
Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA), and organizational policies.
Work closely with medical staff, billing, and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and resolve any issues that arise.
Perform additional tasks related to patient services as required.
