Essential Functions and Responsibilities
This position will perform preclinical scale development activities for the test production, purification, and characterization of candidate ViP vectors and RNA payloads.
The candidate is expected to drive design of experimental studies needed to support improvements to enhance ViP encapsulation and in vitro / in vivo delivery.
Serve as technical expert and partner with CMC team (process and analytical leads) to build effective scalable strategies once pre-clinical candidates are identified.
Develop a broad spectrum of SOPs for producing, purifying, and analyzing various ViP potential candidates.
This will likely involve coordinating with collaborators and vendors.
Draft and manage appropriate lab biosafety SOPs.
Execute research and production timelines to meet program and corporate objectives.
Support experimental designs, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting results.
Present obtained results in internal work discussions.

Ph.D. in biochemistry, virology, or a related field with 2-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
It is expected that candidate should have broad and direct experience with the design and synthesis of nucleic acid-containing delivery systems, and assessment of successful nucleic acid delivery in tissue culture or animal models with a robust technical skill set.
Importantly also has a broad molecular biology knowledge with the ability to apply engineering principles to solve problems.
Prior experience with encapsulation platforms such as adenovirus, lentivirus, LNPs and / or retrovirus will be advantageous.
Expertise in viral vector capsid evolution / engineering with deep understanding of computational biology is a plus.
