Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster
Medix Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our team.
Job Summary
This is a full-time, remote position responsible for handling workers' compensation claims from inception through closure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Establish contact with employers to review issues and respond to inquiries.
- Review legal correspondence and medical reports to evaluate claim validity and liability.
- Evaluate and approve medical procedures and treatments, administering benefits as needed.
- Investigate coverage, liability, and monetary value of claims, reviewing medical and legal bills for appropriateness.
- Negotiate settlement of claims, liens, rehabilitation plans, and other related matters.
- Prepare and present reports to clients, ensuring timely resolution of claims.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS or BA/BS preferred but not required.
- Administrators Certificate from Self-Insurance Plans required within one year of employment if not already obtained.
- Must possess a current Experienced Indemnity Claims Adjuster Designation, provided by an insurer, as defined in California Code of Regulations, Title 10, Chapter 5, Subchapter 3, Section 2592.01(f).
- At least 3 years recent workers compensation claims handling experience required; 5 years preferred.
- Solid knowledge of workers compensation laws, policies, and procedures required.
Work Environment:
This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Salary: $49.00 - $54.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 5:30pm PST
