Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the revenue cycle process, ensuring accurate medical, behavioral health and dental billing, coding, and collections. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT/HCPCS, ICD10 and the overall healthcare revenue cycle.
Duties
- Call payers and use probing questions to understand claim status.
- Review denied claims on payer portals or EOBs and take necessary steps to resolve the denial.
- Clearly document multiple EHR systems to ensure clear understanding of actions taken to resolve the claim.
- Write, submit and follow up on appeals for denied claims.
- Meet quality and productivity standards.
- Review and understand EOB's/RA's (Explanation of Benefits and Remittance Advice documents received from insurance payers and government entities.
- Process all required payments and adjustments to client accounts .
- Contact insurance plans and governments entities using online systems, email, and phone to resolve unpaid claims.
- Providing data to management on trends found with payers in claims adjudication process affecting claims payment.
- Provide excellent customer service in keeping with MedLink's legacy both internal and externally.
- Maintain expertise in multiple client EHR systems.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of revenue cycle management, industry trends perform other duties as necessary.
- Acts as an effective team member.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year health care revenue cycle experience within a physician or behavioral health office, or insurance plan claims processing unit.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/HCPCS and ICD.10 coding requirements and healthcare regulations.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
