What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Bill Negotiation Specialist- 100% REMOTE position at MEDLOGIX, LLC?
The Medical Bill Negotiation Specialist is responsible for negotiating a reduction in the amount due on medical bills to maximize cost savings for our clients and meet or exceed the program goals for success rate, turnaround time and reduction percentage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily inventory of unpaid medical bills that have not been reduced by PPO contracts
- Navigate all systems effectively for negotiation review and completion
- Review and prioritize bills based on processing criteria, turnaround times, client requests and service level standards
- Negotiate additional discounts on catastrophic bills with PPO reduction
- Establish and enhance negotiation strategies leveraging past experience, proprietary data and other data sources
- Identify additional data sources to assist with developing solid negotiation strategies
- Obtain signed Letters of Acceptance reflecting successful outcomes
- Follow up with providers to resolve open negotiations
- Handle appeals, questions from providers, clients or internal staff regarding negotiated bills
- Serve as liaison between client service and managed care teams to identify out of network leakage and provide in network alternatives
- Identify provider information for possible recruitment in the PPO
- Organize negotiation outcomes for management reports and reporting to clients
- Collaborate with staff to complete departmental projects as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
2 plus years of experience in healthcare with strong emphasis in negotiations, contracting or bill review. Must have knowledge of medical provider/facility billing and coding and insurance explanations of benefits (EOBs).

Capable of handling multiple projects in a fast paced environment. Strong interpersonal and team building skills with ability to work with a diverse team. Must be self-motivated with exceptional follow through skills, tenacious, quick thinking and motivated by success. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
