Description :
Administering intravenous (IV) medications and fluids to patients in their homes, closely monitoring their condition throughout the infusion process, and providing education regarding their treatment while ensuring safe and effective care within the patient's residence.
Responsibilities
Perform patient assessments
Administer IV treatments
Monitor patients' fluid and electrolyte status
Evaluate the effectiveness of infusions
Avoid complications from fluid overload and electrolyte imbalance
Skills and knowledge
Highly skilled at performing venipuncture
Knowledgeable about different IV medications, fluids, and blood products
Aware of infection control precautions
Have extensive knowledge of how to perform several kinds of IV therapies
Shifts
Vary based on patient need and number of infusions required daily. RN may have multiple patients throughout the day and can choose the number of patients to see in a day.
Salary : $45 - $50
