Job Description :
The Pharmacy Technician will support an established oncology office by managing pharmacy operations focused on cancer care. In collaboration with oncology pharmacists and other healthcare staff, the technician plays a critical role in the accurate and compassionate preparation of medications, with a specific focus on chemotherapy and biotherapy preparations. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to operate in a sensitive and fast-paced environment, and a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities & duties :
- Assist in the preparation of chemotherapy and other cancer-related medications. While direct administration to patients is not required, ensuring accurate and safe preparation is essential.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage supplies, including conducting both electronic and manual checks to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages.
- Utilize the nucleus system for generating reports and also perform manual checks to verify report accuracy.
- Calculate pharmacological mass as required for medication preparation, ensuring precise dosing.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
