- The Logistics Manager will provide strong leadership and direction for the Medosweet company distribution driver team.
- Responsibilities include developing company strategies, policies, and procedures for Medosweet's Distribution and Logistics activities, department planning, route management, training management, superior customer relations, PAR maintenance, and full enforcement of DOT and OSHA guidelines and resolution of customer issues.
Summary of essential job functions
Ensure Medosweet's Distribution practices are in compliance with DOT & OSHA & other regulatory requirements.Establish processes to monitor distribution activity for DOT & OSHA compliance.
Provide internal and external reporting as required.Ensure Driver Qualification files are completedEnsure all vehicles comply with local, state, and federal regulations.Manage licensing, registration, and inspections.Maintain records related to insurance and compliance requirements.Responsible for all Manager, Supervisor and Driver training and management :Providing vision, coaching, and development opportunities for team personnel.
Ensure proper staffing levels are met by monitoring the hiring process on a regular basis.Ensure merit reviews are completed for all drivers annually.Implement the training and orientation process of new drivers.Provide coaching and discipline as needed to ensure compliance with company policies and to maintain superior customer relations.Create a Driver Training Deck encompassing all tasks associated with Beginning to End driver daily activities.Create a Work-With form for driver evaluations.Develop Company Distribution and Logistics Policies, Procedures and Strategies :Develop policies and procedures to ensure Safety and Efficiency for all Medosweet Stakeholders of Distribution Operations.
Develop and Report KPI information monthly.Use software to track vehicle performance, fuel usage, and driver habits.Maximize route efficiencies and profitability through Static Routing Model.Complete Daily Routing for all Depot locations.Budget and Cost Control :Manage the fleet's budget, including fuel, maintenance, and leasing costs.Analyze expenses to identify cost saving opportunitiesManage Actual Driver hours vs Routed hours.Assist in negotiating contracts with suppliers for fuel, parts, and services.Manage Medosweet's 3rd Party Transportation :Develop the strategies and processes to manage Medosweet's 3rd party carriers to enhance profitability and performance
Develop Medosweet's carriers to create a competitive advantage for the companyDevelop best "Lane" transportation using Medosweet fleet or Medosweet's carrier partnersMinimum requirements
Ideal candidates will have management experience in a distribution position in the food or beverage industry, preferably one that services customers through direct sales and / or direct store delivery distribution.Must be knowledgeable of DOT regulations and other applicable Federal and State laws.Ability to plan, assign and direct work. Must possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.Should be computer literate (especially with MS Excel).Strong background with ERP, CRM, WMS, and TMS systems. Load planning, inventory control, warehouse, and logistics. 3PL and large client management preferred.Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.Travel and work in Portland facility 25%-30% of each month.Company and Physical Requirements :
