Job Description
As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT equipment to produce high-quality images of patients' bones, organs, and tissue.
You will position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary, set the controls of the related equipment, monitor equipment and patient, and make adjustments as needed.
Additional responsibilities include assisting radiologists with imaging procedures, starting IVs, injecting contrast (if applicable), dispensing oral contrast to patients, and evaluating CT scans for technical quality.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Loading and operating power injections for contrast media administration
- Delivering quality, cost-effective patient care in a professional manner
- Maintaining a safe work environment for both staff and customers
- Promoting national patient safety initiatives
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Eighteen months prior experience in a health care setting as a CT Tech
- ARRT (CT) or ASRT certification
- Licensure (most states require)
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
