Responsibilities
- Operate CT equipment to produce high-quality cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes
- Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary
- Set controls on related equipment, monitor patient and equipment, and make adjustments as required
- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including starting IVs and injecting contrast media when applicable
- Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure, and label them appropriately
- Schedule patients for procedures and assist with some clerical functions
- Charge procedures and supplies used to patient records
- Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration
Requirements and Qualifications
- Eighteen months prior experience in a healthcare setting as a CT Technologist
- Must be ARRT (CT) or ASRT certified
- Most states require licensure
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
