Job Description
As a computed tomography technologist, you will operate CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs, and tissue used to diagnose medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
- Appropriately set the controls of the related equipment, monitoring equipment and patient, making adjustments as necessary.
- Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast media if applicable.
- Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence of exposure, and label accordingly.
- Schedule patients for procedures and assist with some clerical functions.
- Charge procedures and supplies used to the patient record.
- Load and operate power injections for contrast media administration.
Qualifications
- Eighteen months prior experience in a healthcare setting as a CT technologist or equivalent experience.
- Current ARRT (CT) or ASRT certification.
- Most states require licensure; MedPro provides full coverage of credentialing fees.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic healthcare team.
