Registered Nurse:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for an offsite patient care facility in a hotel/shelter setting located in Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island or Bronx. RNs will be required to deliver immunizations, medication, phlebotomy, triage to ESI level, collect vital signs, and refer patients in this position. The ideal candidate for this position should comfortably maintain high-quality patient care by assuming responsibility for the patient's medical care and implementing specified policies and procedures. This is a per diem position with both full-time and part-time hours available. The pay rate for this position is $55 per hour.
Keys to success:
The capacity to listen to patients speaking Spanish and problem solve within means is essential for every position on this project. All staff members must be considerate and kind to patients. Team member must be flexible, solution-focused with attention to detail, ability to quickly process and disseminate information to patients, team, and leaders. Must possess strong supervisory qualities, as well as the capacity to train others. The majority of the patient population speaks Spanish (preferred), but fluency in other languages, including French, Creole, Haitian, Wolof, and ASL, is a benefit.
Registered Nurse Responsibilities:
· As a Registered Nurse, provide healthcare services to the immigrants.
· Recognize and treat any medical condition using the proper techniques, equipment, and knowledge of all applicable State and County protocols.
· Ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are conveniently supplied and accessible.
· Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records
· Administer medications to patients and observe them for adverse reactions
· Record the medical details and vital signs of patients
· Monitor, document, and report symptoms or condition changes in patients.
· Assess, plan, administer, or evaluate patient care plans in consultation and coordination with healthcare team members.
· Help define, maintain, and understand practice standards.
· Perform required skills (evaluation, intervention) in accordance with policies, guidelines, and procedures.
· Admit residents relocating to hospitals/clinics/outpatient visits must adhere to the facility's processes and regulations, and the relevant documentation must be completed in accordance with the established guidelines.
· Report directly to the location.
· Always be kind, helpful, and professional when interacting with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
RN Registered Nurse Requirements:
· Pediatric experience
· Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
· M.S./B.S. or equivalent experience preferred
· Licensed RN (Registered Nurse) to practice in New York
· Experience reconstituting is preferred but not required.
· Demonstrate teamwork to maintain system cleanliness, readiness, and compliance with quality assurance requirements.
· Capacity for self-direction in areas of responsibility delegated
· Fluent in Spanish Preferred
