The Patient Care Specialist works in partnership with all staff and leadership in the center.
A Patient Care Specialist will:
- Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the patient experience and quality of care.
- Ensure the flawless execution of the MedRite Brand/Patient Experience (Brandies)
- Lead by example and maintains office presence with the highest level of professionalism.
- Register patients based on the type of visit: EPS, WS, PRS in EMR.
- Create new medical records for patients and collect insurance information and vital statistics in EMR.
- Accurately complete beginning and end-of-day checklists daily.
- Assist in completing timely follow-ups with patients as necessary and as directed by CM and provider.
- Obtaining and recording patient information, including insurance verification and other information for medical records, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Complete the Daily Activity Report, enter charges, and complete payments throughout the day.
- Complete end-of-day reconciliation and complete daily deposits per standard operating procedures.
- Accurately collect payments and handle petty cash.
- Answer incoming phone calls within three rings, using standard greetings.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area throughout the front desk to meet brand standard expectations. Assist as needed with inventory supply count.
- Check email regularly throughout the day, respond to time-sensitive emails immediately, and take the appropriate partnership.
- Possess cross-functional knowledge of other roles in the center to assist when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations under HIPAA.
- Execute other duties as assigned.
- Providing compassionate care to our patients.
- Must speak Haitian Creole.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems is a plus.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and eClinical works helpful.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Commitment to quality and excellence in patient care.
Pay rate between $17-$19 per hour
