Job Overview
The Progressive Care Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex medical needs. This position requires a compassionate and skilled nursing professional who can assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a progressive care setting. The nurse will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and support the recovery process.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their health status and care needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition, vital signs, and response to treatments.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including injections and intravenous therapies.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth.
• Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in all procedures.
• Provide support in outpatient settings as needed, including ambulatory surgery centers.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices.
• Proficiency in occupational health standards and laboratory procedures.
• Experience in long-term care settings is preferred.
• Ability to ventilate patients effectively when necessary.
• Experience administering injections with precision and confidence.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with nursing best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50.00 - $53.00 per hour
