Job Overview
The Progressive Care Nurse plays a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients with complex medical needs. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their health status and care needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based practices.
- Monitor patients for changes in condition, vital signs, and response to treatments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including injections and intravenous therapies.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth.
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols in all procedures.
- Provide support in outpatient settings as needed, including ambulatory surgery centers.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and practices.
- Proficiency in occupational health standards and laboratory procedures.
- Experience in long-term care settings is preferred.
- Ability to ventilate patients effectively when necessary.
