Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using radioactive materials, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during scans. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as proficiency in aseptic techniques and medical imaging practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine scans, including PET scans, to assist in the diagnostic evaluation of patients.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and patient interactions.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret scan results.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines related to the handling of radioactive materials.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively position patients for optimal imaging results.
- Conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure accurate functionality.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized nuclear medicine program is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience with diagnostic evaluation techniques in nuclear medicine.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and medical imaging practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
