About the Role:
Our client, a respected nursing home in Flushing, NY, is seeking an experienced Infectious Disease Nurse to lead infection prevention, control, and risk management efforts. This critical role ensures the health and safety of residents and staff by implementing effective infection control strategies and managing risk assessments to maintain a safe and compliant environment within a long-term care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee infection prevention and control programs tailored to the nursing home environment.
- Conduct comprehensive risk management assessments and implement strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on infection trends among residents and staff.
- Provide expert guidance and education to staff on infection prevention protocols, risk management, and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical and administrative teams to address infection-related concerns and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Conduct investigations of infection outbreaks and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations related to infection control and risk management.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New York.
- Prior experience in infectious disease management and risk management within a nursing home or long-term care facility is a must.
- Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices, healthcare regulations, and risk management strategies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Certification in Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) or Risk Management is a plus but not required.
