What are the responsibilities and job description for the PSYCHIATRIC - MENTAL HEALTH PHYSICIAN position at Medstaff National Medical Staffing?
Medstaff is assisting with long term part time Psychiatry coverage for an ICE detention center located northeast of Alexandria, LA.
- Looking for a physician that is board certified, or a recent grad ready to sit for the boards, in Psychiatry
- Requires unrestricted Louisiana license, BLS and at least one year of psychiatry experience
- Experience in a detention / correctional or residential setting is preferred but not required
- Part time coverage is needed for Sun-Sat, days, nights, weekends and will have shared call
- Flexibility would be great - let us know your preferences
- Bi-Lingual is a plus, but not required
- Duties include but are not limited to evaluation, formulation of diagnoses and treatment of psychiatric and mental health care needs
- Includes, family units, urgent and emergency mental health care, public health management, case management, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Also gender specific care, including transgender care and management of mental health care during pregnancy
- Start date is based on time for interview, site visit, acceptance, credentialing and security clearance. Will be a commitment through September 2025, with possibility for long term extensions.
